What to wear: Mother of the bride (and groom) | Spring 2012

For a lot of mothers, finding an outfit for their daughter or son's wedding can be one of the most stressful or difficult part of the wedding preparations.

The options for mothers of the bride or groom are quite limited, at least in Australia, so the process of finding the perfect outfit can be quite overwhelming.

Here are some things to consider when shopping for a mother of the bride or groom outfit:
  • Don't limit yourself to the traditional "mother of the bride" type stores. Think outside the box, and visit boutique stores for something different.
  • Colour is very important. You don't want the mother of the bride or groom to be wearing the same colour as the bridesmaids.
  • Style is very important. Consider the dress code of the wedding. As the mother of the bride or groom you don't want to be overdressed, or under-dressed.
  • Dress your age and shape. This is important every day, but especially for your daughter or son's wedding.
  • If all else fails, consider getting an outfit made by a dressmaker.

Carla Zampatti is the epitome of style and sophistication in Australia. Perfect for mother of the bride or groom. Here are some of her Spring 2012 styles we love.

This Bamboo Sheer Sleeve Tuxedo Jacket is a great choice. It can be paired with pants, or a skirt either short or long as pictured, to create different looks.
